Independence High School CNA Training

Instruction is guided by Natalie Benefield, the Health Science educator at Independence High, delivering both academic and technical training in CNA theory, safety protocols, and patient care skills. Students split time between school-based labs and the real-world clinical setting at NHC, which provides a realistic introduction to bedside care. Having NHC as a partner adds real value: students learn alongside working CNAs and are introduced to hospital routines and expectations early on. Beyond CNA, the CCTE pathway fosters further preparation for careers such as LPN, RN, athletic training, sports medicine, and allied health roles. With each stage of learning—from anatomy to nursing capstone—students build a solid bridge toward advanced healthcare positions.
